Living so close to natural wildlife is one of the major attractions of our new Castle Irwell development in Lower Kersal, Salford.
With an abundance of open green space, walking trails and a meandering riverside setting, it’s one of the best locations in the city for spotting animals such as nesting birds, bats and hedgehogs.
Nature is playing an important role in our designs at Castle Irwell so you can imagine how excited we were by the recent sighting of an otter in the River Irwell close to our development.
Photographs of the otter published by the Manchester Evening News are ‘definitive proof that otters have returned to central Salford” according to the Mersey Rivers Trust.
Benjamin Ashcroft, head of marketing at Salboy, said: “The otter was photographed at Adelphi Wharf, just upstream from our Castle Irwell development.
“Otters inhabiting the river here is a reflection of the brilliant work undertaken to rejuvenate Manchester’s waterways over the past decade and is exciting for our new residents who can look forward to watching nature evolve and an even greater diversity of wildlife on their doorsteps.”
